How to get there

Services arrive at Piccadilly or Victoria stations where passengers can connect with Metrolink trams for easy access to the city centre.

Piccadilly Station is a 20 minute walk to Manchester Central or just five minutes by taxi. Alternatively, catch a connecting train to Oxford Road Station - just five minutes from Manchester Central on foot.

The nearest tram stop to Manchester Central is St Peter's Square.
From there, Manchester Central is just a few minutes on foot. 
Deansgate - Castlefield is also a short walk. 

Trams run every few minutes from early morning until late in the evening. You don’t need a timetable, just turn up, buy your ticket and the next tram will be along shortly.

Manchester Central work with black cab drivers to make sure they know when the venue is going to be busy. 

There is a dedicated taxi rank at the front of the venue for pick ups and drop offs. Black cab taxis are readily available at Manchester Airport and both Piccadilly and Victoria train stations. 

 

FAQ's

Will I need to be registered to attend? 

You will need to be registered to attend, please print or bring your e-ticket on your phone and show this at the EXPO registration desks on arrival along with photographic ID. If you are not registered and do not have photo ID then you will not be permitted entry. 
You will not be able to register at the event, registration will close midnight the day before.

Will there be any security at the event?

All visitors will be required to pass through bag searches.   

We therefore ask you to consider keeping bags and possessions to a minimum.  Please also consider the size of your bag - we recommend just one small bag or handbag - to minimise the time it takes to search and gain access to the event.  When planning your arrival to the venue, we suggest you allow some extra time for security checks. 

What is the venues accessibility?

Manchester Central is designed for maximum accessibility The event can be easily accessed via the main entrance.
Entrances are fully ramped and accessible and foyer entrances are sensor-activated. 

The venue have lots of room for wheelchairs and have some self-propelled wheelchairs available for use within the venue. 

Will there be any cloakroom or storage facilities?

A cloakroom will be available near the registration desks but will only hold coats and small bags. All items are left at your own risk.

Are there any prayer rooms available?

A prayer room will be available for you to use, please ask for the location at the registration desks.

Can I get access to the venue Wi-Fi?

Manchester Central has free visitor Wi-Fi on _MCCC FREE Wi-Fi - no password is needed but you will be required to accept the terms and Conditions.

Are children allowed in the venue?

We will allow children over the age of 12 to attend the event with a parent or guardian (The parent or guardian must already be registered and have photo ID)
For security reasons, the event is not suitable for children under the age of 12 or for babies in prams.

Are dogs allowed in the venue?

We welcome guide dogs, hearing dogs and other assistance dogs at the Centre. No other pets are permitted.
