Job Description

We are looking for experienced Test Manager who can join a growing testing function and lead on one of the biggest Test Transition projects. You will work closely with other vendors from whom we are taking over the Testing Programme. The job will require you to act as the main point of contact for all Test Transition activities and provide knowledge and guidance on technologies, tooling, and staffing needs of the team. You will be required to be a self-starter and work independently whilst also participating in both the Functional Testing and Automation Testing functions. Can handle small modules and help in overall project completion.
Test Manager will also mentor and guide Test Leads and Test Analysts in the team to become self-sufficient in extending and maintaining Testing on the programme. Test Manager should have sound understanding of planning and executing non-functional tests.
Skills we can't do without:
- Minimum 10 years testing experience with at least 3 years of Test Management experience
- SC cleared or eligible to achieve SC clearance
- At least 5 years’ experience working within large public sector organization’s managing the full end to end testing programme
- Experience of working within the government environment and deep knowledge of Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and guidelines
- Well versed in Testing techniques, tools, and latest trends, including SW engineering processes and automation
- Produce end to end Test strategy and test approach
- Experience in writing Test Level Plans
- Experienced in test planning & execution with Agile & Devops methodologies
- Oversee test execution results and defects tracker
- Manage defects and ensure that corrective actions are taken in a timely manner to ensure these meet the programme timeline
- Produce summary report of testing status, defect status, corrective actions for major defects and RAG status at programme level with input from workstream
- Creation of Test Level Exit Reports
- Experience of Managing Test Transition Projects
- Must have led testing activities in various projects, with teams up to 20 resources, ideally within a Distributed Delivery environment
- Flexible, with good communication and analytical skills
- Knowledge of all aspects of the software engineering process
- Experience in a wide variety of testing efforts, techniques, and tools
- Good people skills, especially diplomacy and advocacy skills
- Planning, resource assignment, management skills
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure that requirements are managed end to end and ensure that traceability is maintained
- Produce Test Approach, Test Plans
- Support Test Automation Manager with test automation engagement delivery tasks
- Oversee daily test execution results and communicate with wider stake holders
- Identify manual tests which can be automated wherever necessary
- Manage defects and ensure that corrective actions are taken in a timely manner to ensure these meet the programme timeline
- Produce summary report of testing status, defect status, corrective actions for major defects and RAG status at programme level with input from workstream
- Review and establish test management tools (e.g., test case and defect management)
- Contribute to risk and issues identification and management
- Creation of Test Level Exit Reports
- Experience of managing Cloud Migration Projects
- Experience of Managing Test Transition Projects
