The Candidate
This role would suit a candidate with either / or a combination of the following –
• Technical BA / Project Manager with a GNSS focused company / sector knowledge.
• Engineers who have worked in GNSS Sector or have GNSS Knowledge, with Jira and Possibly Project Management experience.
• Candidates with a PHD in a GNSS related field.
The Role
This role is 60% hands off, which will include requirements gathering and technical proposal writing, so previous exposure to direct customer engagement would be ideal. Familiarity with (Ideally GNSS based) R&D methods; GNSS test; RFCS development, would put you in a good position to be successful in this role. The solutions are all in house so we are looking for someone with an aptitude for learning, as no matter what background the successful candidate comes from, you will not be familiar with the company’s product portfolio and solutions. You will be writing solutions for business customers in relation to GNSS Simulators, which produce a GNSS RF Environment. You will be liaising closely with the Tech Team, write up Test Plans, conduct fact finding and obtain a clear understanding from the customer of what they are aiming to achieve.
The 40% hands on element of the role will be conducting tests on the businesses site in Devon, so you must be prepared to work on site 2-3 days a week. Candidates may come from an RF Engineering Background (not essential) / general Engineering background at a GNSS Sector focused business. Or potentially a Technical BA or PM background. GNSS experience and knowledge is essential.
Duties:
• Daily liaison with Sales team and customers to capture, question and understand requirements, ahead of proposing appropriate technical solutions in conjunction with cross-functional subject matter specialists.
• Development and ownership of the detailed technical content provided in the formal Tailored Solution proposal.
• Provide resource and materials costings for inclusion in the commercial response.
• In selected cases and dependent upon the project type, the opportunity to act in individual contributor or lead on the project delivery.
• Actively support driving the evolution of Tailored Solutions by optimizing processes as well as solution architecture and employed technologies
• Liaison with Marketing regarding identification and management of partners for provision of specialist services, outsourcing of engineering tasks, adding value to customers via project acceleration or access to expertise unavailable internally
Requirements:
• Knowledge of a suitable technology - ideally GNSS, Software or RF Engineering specialty.
• Time spent in an individual technical contributor role. Ideally including technical project lead exposure.
• Requirements gathering and technical proposal writing knowledge, including exposure to direct customer engagement.
• Familiar with (Ideally GNSS based) R&D methods; GNSS test; RFCS development.
• Ability to grasp an understanding of new technologies and their application quickly.
• Good communication skills required to liaise across multi-discipline project teams and a diverse range of customers.
• Exposure to working on multiple projects simultaneously, with an ability to prioritise work.
• Comfortable leading and working in small teams as well as on an individual basis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• High level of computer literacy with good presentation skills.
