Systems Engineer (MBSE)
Role Overview:
We have requirements for Model Based Systems Engineers as part of our growing Defence team at QuEST Global. Roles will be based at one of our customer sites in Luton.
Candidates should currently be employed as a Systems Engineer, with experience of the whole lifecycle and a strong background in Model Based Systems Engineering and use of related tools.
Job Responsibilities:
As a systems engineer responsibilities may include:
- Technical solution production at the bid stage
- Technical solutions detailed in work and product breakdown structures at bid stage
- Production of engineering management plans
- Production of sub-contractors SOR / SOW (as required) to support solution delivery
- Production of use cases that support bid storyboards
- Identify appropriate tools and processes that support SA delivery and reduce engineering overhead
- Responsible for the following tasks on complex programs;
- Provision of requirements analysis on assigned projects
- Provision of requirements management on assigned projects
- Production of sub system requirement specifications
- Production of internal functional and non-functional requirements to enable detailed design
- Production of top-level design and documentation on assigned projects
- Production of design documentation for Design Reviews
- Ensuring that solutions are ready to enter design reviews (PDR and CDR)
- Provision of product owner input into review boards
- Solutions are ready for review with SA work finalised including but not limited to PDR, CDR, FAT and SAT
- Ensuring SA tasks are correctly booked and managed in support of the Project Manager
- Supporting the Software Lead and Test manager with acceptance criteria for each product line requirement
- Manage the acceptance of the solution internally in MMD and externally to the customer
- Ensuring product roadmaps are produced and maintained
- Communicate with BD and Tech Sales to ensure customer input is included in product roadmaps
- Support the production and maintenance of a roadmap when allocated responsibility for a product
- Communicating system designs to the Capability Lead
- Reporting SA time allocated to business growth to Capability Lead
- Reporting integrated system metrics and production of KPIs to Capability Lead
- Management and supervision of technical teams as required
- Mentoring of junior engineers
- Responsible for technical governance in the absence of the technical head and when authorised to do so
- Undertake other tasks to support the engineering team where required;
- Comply with Company policies and procedures (including the Business Management System);
Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
Mandatory
- An understanding of MATLAB/Simulink
- Experience in MBSE and use of associated tools including Rhapsody or Enterprise Architect.
- Experience/knowledge of requirements management
- Exposure to systems integration and/or test experience of complex, high-reliability systems
- Experience of verification and validation (V&V) activities to achieve certification and acceptance
- Experience of working in multi-disciplined Engineering teams
- Able to generate high-quality documentation (test specifications, procedures & reports)
- Experience of defining verification methods and generating tests requirements/procedures
- Experience of showing traceability of V&V tests to systems requirements & generating/updating Verification Matrices (VCRMs)
Qualifications
- HND/HNC, degree (BSc/BEng/MSc/MEng) in a relevant STEM-based subject or equivalent experience.
- UK/ EU citizenship is mandatory to be able to clear the background checks and obtain a BPSS or SC clearance
- Current valid SC clearance would be an advantage
