Senior Software Engineer (Bristol)

Our clients provide critical services and products around the world and we need to make sure we develop and protect applications and data to the highest standards. You will work across an exciting and broad range of industries including transport, health, government, defence and energy to help our clients advance their capabilities and make a real difference in these industries.

We are looking for an experienced cloud solutions engineer who can help us accelerate design, deployment and testing of software development and infrastructure for client projects.

Some recent challenges we’ve been working on are:

• Designing a digital twin of a particle accelerator for implementation with a focus on secure design. (Azure)
• Build data analysis and infrastructure for ingestion and analytics of ship tracking data in AWS using serverless technologies (S3, Lambda, C#, Terraform).
• Helping an energy customer to maintain critical infrastructure by developing software that models and monitors state and damage to complex systems using ASP.NET, Entity Framework, Postgres and C#.
• Enabling the energy industry to demonstrate data quality and providence via a blockchain-backed proof of concept application. Using Azure, Solidity, C# and Docker

The successful applicant will meet the following minimum requirements:

• Building infrastructure and deploying applications to Azure or AWS
• Experience with C# or Python and appreciation of clean coding practices
• Building web applications using modern API and SSR or CSR UI frameworks (e.g. Flask, Express, ASP.NET, Spring along with React, Angular, Razor/Blazor or similar)
• Managing development of solutions using Agile approaches
• An ability to discuss and present complex topics in an understandable way
• Consultancy skills in stakeholder management, business development and requirements elicitation
• Excellent interpersonal skills to enable internal and external network development

It is to your advantage if you meet any of the following additional requirements:

• Containerisation of applications
• Using and managing Azure DevOps projects or Similar
• Certifications in Azure or AWS
