Lead the on-site delivery and implementation of technology that delivers freedom, flexibility, choice, and performance. The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Cloud Consultant to join us in Farnborough, U.K. In this role, you will gain understanding of our customer’s infrastructures and business needs and make recommendations appropriate to their environments. You'll build on your core technical expertise and work in a fast-paced environment, promoting Red Hat’s solutions.
What you will do
- Serve as a subject matter expert at the customer’s site, addressing technical, developmental, or strategic IT needs
- Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, software specification and design, testing, and deployment of open source solutions
- Continuously learn new technologies and apply acquired concepts to customer’s needs
- Adapt to the changing customer requirements
- Respond to incidents, escalations, and exceptions in a professional manner
- Providing recommendations to solve business problems using Red Hat technologies
What you will bring
- Highest level of U.K. security clearance
- Experience with UNIX or Linux system administration and tuning
- Experience with OpenShift or similar container or Kubernetes technologies
- Solid background in cloud implementations and understanding of their business impact
- Experience implementing virtualization technologies in an enterprise setting and experience with enterprise-wide deployments
- Experience working with cloud management solutions and tools
- Solid knowledge of automation technologies like automation controller, Chef, or Puppet
- Ability to communicate value, progress, and metrics of key projects to stakeholders
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, project management, and planning skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel up to 75%
