Quantity Surveyor (Camberley)
The Role
We are currently looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor as part of or Defence contract, to deliver infrastructure, asset and facilities management services into the UK Defence Sector.
This will be based at Sandhurst, Camberley.
Job Description
• Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager responsible for the commercial function of the designated region.
• Ensures the efficient overall commercial and financial management of the assigned projects/region in a professional and ethical manner adhering to commercial guidelines, established best practice and company standards.
• Ensures timely & accurate submission of contract commercial deliverables
• Contribute to maximising the potential growth and development of the business.
• Ensures execution of commercial activities of the project/region to ensure the objectives are met or exceeded.
• Ensure that the commercial aspects of the project are fully understood by the project team and embedded in the operation of the project.
• Provide commercial support and direction to project team(s)
• Provides clear and accurate data for reporting the commercial performance of the project/region.
• Pursues own professional development and provide guidance and support to develop other commercial staff
Responsibilities
• Carryout site visits with client to review requirements
• Ensuring the timely submission of accurate & robust ROC’s based on customers’ requirements.
• Develop cost options for projects as required
• Review project requirements identify resources required where external design is required ensure the correct appointment of designers appropriate for the project
• Provide commercial advice in the development of the project design/development to ensure the solution meets the expectation of the customer and the organisation
• Ensure identification of risks in projects and implement risk management, risk registers and contingencies to minimise the risks.
• Ensure the Risk Register is developed, monitored & maintained throughout the life of each project.
• Ensure that tender/quotation packages are prepared & sent out in accordance with the tender strategy
• Advise on the selection of the supply chain for a project
• Ensure the selected supply chain are selected in accordance with company procedures & contract strategy
• Ensure supply chain tenders / quotations are robustly evaluated and meet with the requirements of the project
• Ensure the development and submission of accurate Firm Price submissions - including Risk Register, Tender Analysis and Tender Report
• Monitor the submission of Firm Prices against the Contract KPI’s
• Liaise with construction team and submit realistic programme for the project
• On award of a project provide a briefing to the delivery team regarding the scope of the project, delivery & best value strategy.
Qualifications/Skills
Relevant Degree or time served experience
Previous experience in a similar role
Experience with NRM Submissions and Pricing
