QA Engineer

Location - Bristol

Job Role: 

 

Working across multiple Defence projects ensuring Quality standards are being implemented whilst driving continuous improvement techniques. Ensuring processes are being followed in accordance with the requirements of Integrated Management System (IMS) and to lead resolution processes where this is not the case. 

Being allocated to multiple Defence projects, the Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for the specific audit schedules, customer complaints and relevant Root Cause Analysis, whilst having responsibility for the specific Project Quality Manuals.  

 

 

Responsibilities include:  

 

  • Deployment of the IMS across the multiple Projects;  

  • Assessment of sub-contractor capability and quality performance against defined requirements;  

  • Management of process collaboration with sub-contractors;  

  • Assurance of the ability of the project to meet UK MoD quality requirements;  

  • Liaison with and report on quality activity to the UK MOD GQAR;  

  • The performance or oversight of test verification and / or first article reporting (as required);  

  • The signatory for Certificates of Conformity for all customer deliverables (product or service);  

  • Single point of contact with the UK MoD for Project quality related issues;  

  • Identification and mitigation of project quality risks;  

  • Performance of defined project quality activity incl. Continuous Improvement initiatives;  

  • Performance of internal and sub-contractor audits.  

In line with ESUK’s Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity & eligibility to work in the UK. 

Person Specification 

  • Has a proven range of Quality/Business improvement experience. 

  • Experience with auditing of ISO 9001. 

  • Experience with the following Defence standards: 

  • AQAP 2105 Edition C – NATO Requirements for Deliverable Quality Plans.  

  • AQAP 2110 Edition D, version 1 – NATO Quality Assurance Requirements for Design, Development and Production. 

  • AQAP 2210 Edition A version 2 – NATO Supplementary Software Quality Assurance Requirements to AQAP 2110. 

  • DEF STAN 05-61 Part 1, Issue 6 – Quality Assurance Procedural Requirements – Concessions.  

  • DEF STAN 05-057 Issue 6 – Configuration Management of Defence Material. 

  • DEF STAN 05-61 Part 4, Issue 3 – Contractor Working Parties.  

  • DEF STAN 05-135, Issue 2 – Avoidance of Counterfeit Material.  

  • Experience of working in a Defence environment, specifically with the MOD. 

  • Knowledge of Quality plans/manuals. 

  • Ability to challenge individuals at all levels to ensure compliance.
