Power BI & Data Engineer

The context of this project will involve creating an initial Proof-Of-Concept (POC) for defence MI system that aims to provide a single application that could be used across the entirety of the end client. This project follows on from those subsequent Proofs-Of-Concept with the aim of building upon the work performed within those POCs and associated discovery that was performed at the same time (which identified a range of potential User Stories) to provide a usable production version of the new combined system.

Rate: £500-600/day + expenses

 

Responsibilities 

This program of work will involve 2 particular streams, these being:

 

Data Ingestion / Modelling / Power BI Engineer (48 days)

• Can take data from connected (i.e. SQL) or disconnected (i.e. Excel) sources, ingest that using Azure Data Factory into SQL then perform a range of processing and modelling of that data within SQL to check the quality / transform it into the necessary shape. 

• Will be responsible for taking the data and making it available as models to be consumed in Power BI and then generating reports on that

 

Data Analytics / Processing (32 days)

This will look at how the client can use Azure Cognitive Services to process the documents and derive information; otherwise this role will focus on any analytics and processing that needs to occur within the Database (i.e. SQL), or Power BI (i.e. DAX). This is likely to exclude things like being able to identify how similar an entry is to another entry, so knowledge of R, DataBricks etc. would be advantageous, but we’ll be limited in what we can use on the client infrastructure potentially
