Project
This role will cut across multiple projects in each BU and will reside in the Central PMO function.
Role
Reporting directly to the Head of PMO, whilst working proactively with other Senior Team members across all Business Units, the PMO Lead will help support the delivery of the strategic and operational plans for all Bids & Projects within ESUK. While implementing the plans, the PMO Manager must look for efficiencies and effectiveness in terms of managing Schedules, Financial Cost Control, Risk & Opportunity, Reporting Metrics (particularly EVM) and all other aspects within the Programmes to create stability and a level of control which will enable senior management to make decisions and help manage their Projects with the information provided.
The principal purpose of the role is to look at the way each Programme is operating and ensure consistency across the business as much as possible, whilst also providing support, guidance, and mentorship to all PMO Staff while adhering to ESUK policies and procedures.
The role will look at improvements to processes, tools and ensuring that the PMO function is operating as efficiently as possible with the aim of providing the best quality service and information to the business.
Responsibilities include:

Producing resourced, time phased schedules, taking account dependencies and resource requirements when required

Developing and agreeing budgets for projects and/or programmes and managing actual and forecast costs against them when required

Identifying and monitoring project and/or programme and/or portfolio risks (threats and opportunities), planning and implementing responses to them and responding to other issues that might affect the project and/or programme and/or portfolio when required

Consolidating and documenting the fundamental components of projects and/or programmes and/or portfolios (scope, schedule, resource requirements, budgets, risks, issues and quality)

Schedule and Cost risk analysis

Provide consistent approach for Project Control across all Business Units

Analyse Project Financial information

Sales & Ops Planning (S&OP) - Resource management - Supply & Demand across all Business Units for ESUK

Provide reporting to senior management & stakeholders

Facilitate Change Control Process

Provide Bid / New Business support when required
Person Specification
Essential Skills and Experience
-
A proven track record in all elements of Project Control, Risk Management and Resource Planning

Experience with costing, scheduling and scoping multi-million-pound projects

Understanding of Project management principles
-
Experience in presenting data to both internal and external customers

Experience of bid capture

Knowledge of the UK MoD process and procedures

Practical ‘hands on’ attitude with the ability to operate independently

Association Project Management qualification
-
Knowledge of commercial and defence programmes

Experience of full budget control

Experience with Risk Predict! Controller and Analyser
