The role
As an Electromagnetic Scientist, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary working with sensitive and metamaterials as well as stealth technologies. You'll be involved in a range of incredibly exciting projects across electromagnetic research and design for both civil and military applications, within a range of areas which may include stealth materials, metamaterials, communications, electromagnetics and radio frequency.
In this role, you’ll act as a high-level technical expert in your respective field. With various opportunities to develop business and academic acumen, with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
- Support with research and development, applying theory to a range of new electromagnetic materials
- Carry out computer modelling services for civilian and military applications
- Support in a range of electromagnetic design, modelling and measurement techniques
- Provide subject matter expertise across areas linked to core business including: metamaterials, antennas and radar absorbing materials
This role is full-time, 37-hours per week, based at our Farnborough site with flexible, hybrid and working from home options.
Experience of the Electromagnetic Scientist:
- Relevant technical background associated with electromagnetics and STEM related subjects (ideally physics and mathematics)
- A high level of competence in related subjects such as electromagnetic theory and design, electromagnetic measurement and modelling
- An understanding of relevant materials and incorporation of technologies in products is highly desirable

Qualifications for the Electromagnetic Scientist:
- Relevant experience through a PHD, degree
- Industry experience within a relevant role
