The Role

As a Cloud Engineer, you will have a role that is out of the ordinary. You would join the Digital Enterprise Services Product team, in this role you would provide support and experience to deliver reactive, planned and requested activities to effectively maintain high quality services to our customers.

 

Day-to-day you will:

  • Support the Product Owner, Principal Engineer and the Group Head of Digital Enterprise Services in delivery of IT Services to QinetiQ

  • Provide operational service support during incident and problem management activities related directly to their area of expertise

  • Develop, plan and assist in the development and deployment of new technologies and enhancements to existing services

  • Ensure that support documentation is maintained and configuration records for all managed and supported services are updated

  • Identify and develop methods and procedures to improve security and data privacy within the current portfolio of solutions as well as analysis and remedial work during security incidents

 

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, and can be based from any of our main UK sites, with adaptive working options.

 

Essential experience of the Cloud Engineer:

  • Strong experience of enterprise level IT systems in the applications support space

  • Knowledge of at least one scripting language such as Python, VBScript or PowerShell

  • Demonstrable experience developing infrastructure as code with Azure

  • Experience of multiple server technologies (e.g. Windows Server, Linux, Unix)

  • Experience of changing and maintaining application and operating systems configurations
