CGI are looking for a Bid Manager / Senior Proposal Manager to join a team of focused and successful professional Bid and Proposal Managers working in the SDI Business unit. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast paced, commercial environment and play a major part in securing new business for a growing part of CGI.

You will be responsible for leading bids from initial deal qualification through to contract signature, showing strong leadership to drive production of proposals and solutions. You will work alongside the client-facing Opportunity Pursuit Lead (OPL) to fully understand the customer need and ensure that our bids align to customer hot buttons and clearly present CGI’s win themes.

You will also be working alongside other members of the senior leadership team (business unit leads, commercial, finance) to ensure that our proposal accurately represents strategic decisions made on the sales strategy, technical direction and delivery considerations of bids.

This would be an ideal role for a proven project manager interested in bids or business development. The role relates to bids across the whole of Space, Defence & Intelligence, as well as bids in other UK BUs where Space, Defence & Intelligence is contributing to the overall bid.

This role can be based out of any of the following locations:
Leatherhead, Reading, Chippenham or Bristol.

All successful applicants must hold, or be eligible & willing to obtain, UK SC clearance with the view to progressing to higher level clearance if required.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Managing SDI bids, leading teams of specialists to produce responses to ITTs and PQQs within the agreed budget and timescales
• Working alongside the client-facing Opportunity Pursuit Lead (OPL) to ensure our bids align to customer hot buttons and clearly present CGI’s win themes
• Managing all aspects of the offer including Technical, Commercial and Financial
• Working alongside finance and commercial teams to ensure an optimum winning position for CGI
• Risk tracking and management throughout the bid process
• Contributing to the written proposal, both in terms of direction, content and presentation, including the Executive Summary
• Work with senior client managers from SDI and other Business Units throughout the bid process
• Manage the governance process and approvals
• Develop an understanding of SDI services and offerings and is able to communicate their value.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Successful candidates will be energetic and enthusiastic, able to work under pressure
• Track record of working in a bidding/sales environment, with some commercial exposure ideal
• Track record of winning new competitive bids in the past 12-18 months
• Excellent communication, organisation and planning skills
• Good understanding of project and programme finances
• Estimation and price management
• Subcontractor management
• Proven track record of leading large or multi-disciplinary teams
• Able to build relationships and brief senior management on the detail of projects & solutions
• Proactive in identifying & suggesting new approaches/ideas to improve sales & bidding operations
• Conversant with procurement processes within the MOD / Space and Intelligence communities
• Information systems and services background
