Azure Data Engineer

Vacancy Type: Contract (PAYE)

Location: Remote based (occasional travel to reading) 

Duration: 6 months initially

Rate: £550-650/day

• Ability to evaluate end-user business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and then develop and implement the appropriate technical solutions

 

Key Skills Required

• 5+ years in Lead or Senior Data Engineering across the Azure offerings

• C# experience 

• Experience with a Big Data Store / MPP (e.g. Cassandra, HBase, MongoDB, CosmosDB) and significant data volume expertise

• Relational Analytics (database modelling, tuning (index, structure, loading)

• Understanding of data structures (B-Tree, Hashmaps)

• Linux Shell (bash)

• Experience with Rest APIs, JSON

 

Desirable Skills

• Ability to speak other languages is desirable and ability to communicate with a variety of different audiences and strong presentation skills.

 

Soft Skills:

• Highly organised and able to tackle things without supervision

• Experience in the enterprise customer arena

• Ability to work both independently as well as collaborating in a fast-paced team environment where technology and customer requirements can change 

• Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
