Antenna Systems Architect
Job Description:
An Antenna Systems Architect is required to support the development of AESA systems within a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the design and delivery of Antenna systems for airborne platforms within our customer’s business.
This position is based at our customer site in Edinburgh.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who is able to support the AESA system design through the full engineering life cycle from requirements and design to verification and certification. Your role will be key in defining architectural sub-assembly level requirements, resolving system issues and presenting technical solutions to stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Write technical requirements for the Antenna LRI. Manage requirements flow down and compliance with Systems and SRI teams.
- Create technical material in the form of tech notes, presentations, description documents and information for major design reviews.
- Define the Antenna BIT (build-in-test) strategy in the form of a BIT Control Specification.
- Maintain the timing model for the Antenna chain.
- Support the architecture definition of a repositioner sub-system design Work with servo, mechanical, electrical teams and systems teams to define the requirements of the Repo sub-systems.
- Engage with vendors as required to agree procurement specifications for COTS parts.
- Support the closure of major technical issues impacting the Antenna and repositioner sub-system designs.
Key Skills:
- Solid electrical & electronic engineering background.
- Appreciation of mechanical engineering and RF engineering Proficiency with IBM DOORS and Microsoft Office
- Awareness of servo systems design and electromechanical systems is desirable.
- Ability to hunt down technical requirements and experts in the organisation
- Ability to work with different disciplines to review and cooperate on multi-disciplinary specifications
- Ability to drive specifications through to sign-off
